 Raised as an Orthodox Jew and educated in Yeshivot, I had the fortune of studying with Prof. Eliezer Berkovitz. His presence at the Hebrew Theological College while an anomaly, was intellectually gratifying and a gift I shall always treasure . His creative approach to halacha and Jewish Thought provided me with the necessary tools for a life long odyssey of exploring Jewish Thought and practice. Semicha for some is a culmination, for me, the starting point of discovery and self discovery. It brought me to Israel in search of Jewish fulfillment; to the Israel Defense Forces where I continued my journey of Jewish destiny, honorably discharged as a captain; and to Hebrew University where I pursued graduate studies in Jewish History and Jewish Thought.
